The 12 Days of Cookies, Day 13: A Baker's Dozen blessings to you and yours

There's something on my mind...

Christmas is important to me... so much less, I confess, than what it represents for my Christianity, but for what it means in my connections to family, friends, traditions, music, food and to the world of people who choose to, well, "brighten the corner where they are."  That's why baking feels so right at Christmas. It's a simple thing to do, really, but so appreciated -- even when all you're doing is writing about it.

Thanks for letting me share some of my favorite holiday food with you this year. I've heard from so many people out there who have shared their own favorites. I promise to try them some time, and will let you know how they turn out.

I hope your holidays were the best ever. Have a nice cup of something warm or cold, a plate of something home-made, and look up into the sky. Those stars are looking down on me, and everyone else you love.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year... from my kitchen to yours!
